This post will show you how to package Google Chrome (126.96.36.1990.117 m – March 2014) for deployment using SCCM 2012
Download the Chrome for Business MSI installer from Google http://wicher.co.uk/lil/1a and place it into a new folder called Chrome where you store your SCCM applications.
Once you’ve downloaded and placed on your sccm share drive open up your configuration manager console and start making a new application.
Navigate to the Chrome folder and select the GoogleChromeStandaloneEnterprise.msi.
Fill in the application information fields if you like then for the Installation program: msiexec /i “GoogleChromeStandaloneEnterprise.msi” /q
Delete all the syntax and replace with the following:
msiexec.exe /qb- /l*vx REBOOT=ReallySuppress UILevel=67 ALLUSERS=2 /i “GoogleChromeStandaloneEnterprise.msi” /q
Reboot=ReallySuppress – Will prevent the system booting after install.
UILevel=67 – Hides the install progress dialogues.
AllUsers=2 – Places a shortcut icon for the user’s profile (if you’re using GPO to set shortcuts this can be omitted).
If like me this isn’t the first install of google chrome then don’t forget to set the Supersedence and select the old version, this will give you the option now to make the new install check for old version and uninstall before installing the new up to date version.
Now distribute the content and then test deploy to make sure all is working.
