It’s 29th and Microsoft has opened the floodgates for Windows 10, it is now available in 190 countries around the world.
If you’ve already reserved the upgrade on Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 and are yet to see the update, there’s an easy fix that allows you to manually initiate the download process.
- Ensure Windows Update can download and install updates automatically.
- launch Command Prompt in Administrator mode, and enter the following command:
Press enter and it should trigger the Windows 10 download. You will get several prompts to make sure your ready for the update.
If this isn’t working for you, their is another way. If you follow my other guide Create a Bootable Windows 10 and Fresh Install, once you have a bookable USB simply run it from within windows and it will give you an option to UPGRADE, do this and it will install windows 10 on top of your current windows 7/8.
One thing to make sure is that the current windows 7/8 had to be licensed and activated, this process will fail to activate windows 10 if your windows 7/8 isn’t licensed.
