One of the things i wished to do is to make it easier for users to use our sccm application catalogue as the link from the Software Centre isn’t at all helpful. I want a desktop shortcut on all users to the catalogue, simple to do if the user doesn’t have Chrome browser as default. Below is the solution i found, where by making a shortcut to the SCCM catalogue but forcing the use of IE.
- Create a IE shortcut on the desktop.
- Right click on the new IE shortcut and click properties.
- In the target line add the URL you want it to open.
“C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” sccmserver/CMApplicationCatalog
Now even if IE isn’t the users default browser it will open in IE and will SSO into the users account. PERFECT!!
