  1. I also have the 7046 curved with the following spec:
    Campagnolo Centaur groupset
    Stronglight Crankset
Shimano R21 wheelset with Ambrisio conversion cassette (12-28)

I have been upgrading the bike from a Shimano groupset swapped from my previous bike over the last year Just finished out the spec last week with the campy chain, front derailleur and breakes. I probably need to do some more finetuning on the rear derailleur but it is literally silent on most of the cogs.

It’s a fine bike and when you compare the weight to some of the carbon frames, it is not very far off the mark, only issue I have now is the forks are a little heavy weight coming in at 700gr, could be brought down to around 400gr with a full carbon fork which would bring the bike in under 9kg for silly money by comparison with other brands.

  2. Nice! I have a hybrid at the minute, a Giant Roam XR2 which I will be putting thinner tyres on a making my ‘winter’ bike. So excited!

  3. I love the sound of a good Campag 🙂 and yes, I am for the moment local to fulwood, but moving to manchester soon. I have a Giant 3 as a “Winter” bike.

  4. Cool! You’ve gone the Campag option I see, I will be going shimano 105 for a similar price. I am also limited to a 1k budget, mainly because I just cannot justify any more than that! It was between this bike and Giant Defy 1, but I think I prefer the fact this is customisable and also you get full matching groupset etc. Thanks v much for the info, can’t wait to take it up around Rivington (I assume you’re local judging by pics)

  5. Sure do! this is still my main summer bike and Shifting still smooth as butter. Only issue i’ve had over the years is it’s just started to have a sligh 1mm of play on the rear wheel, nothing to worry too much about but will have it tightened up asap, but for the years and miles not bad.

However, it does go without saying you have to look after it… but treat this bike right and it will pay back with every ride.

I got mine under the cycle to work scheme, so my options were limited to £1000.

    Below is my setup:
